Benjamin Ortiz, Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 16th, 2025, at the age of 56, with his wife and dog by his side. Ben had a lifelong passion for music that began at an early age and touched every part of and everyone in his life. He was driven by his eclectic tastes in music, food, yo-yos, stacking bracelets, coffees, teas, and collecting new hobbies. He had a very particular way of things that was uniquely Ben.
Ben is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanie Lorene Finney Ortiz, his son Benjamin Daniel Ortiz, his daughter Danielle Sierre Ortiz, his mother, father, and sisters, and his best friend Robert Kraai. Ben joins his son Robert Edward Issak Ortiz and his brother Daniel Ortiz in peace.
His celebration of life will be held on February 22nd at the Lawrence Union Pacific Depot In the Theater Room from 3-5. He will be greatly missed.
