William “Bill” Toombs went to his heavenly home peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2013, with his wife of 68 years and his family by his side. He enjoyed a long happy life in his trucking business and raising and racing his quarter horses. Bill loved being outdoors and being on his tractor. His family was very important to Bill and he especially loved holiday gatherings with his family surrounding him. He also loved traveling with Betty and they had many adventures together. Bill was outgoing, loved conversing and never met a stranger. He was known for his honesty and his word and handshake was as good as a contract. Bill was born July 3, 1924 in Collin County, TX to William and Fannie (Crowley) Toombs. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1944 and married his wife Betty in 1945. Bill was father of 4 children: sons, William “Billy” Toombs (deceased), Larry Toombs and wife Vicki of Edmond, OK, Donald Toombs and wife Sharon of OKC, OK, and daughter Janet Price and husband David. He was also grandfather to one granddaughter, Tyler Raeh (deceased), 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and leaves behind many longtime friends. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Leslie Tregenza for her love and care for Bill the last few months. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73141 with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
