William Andrew Smith, 86 year old resident of Choctaw, OK, passed away August 12, 2018 in Harrah, Oklahoma. Born March 26, 1932 in Merkel, Texas, he was the son of Marvin William Smith and Minnie Essie (Huffman) Smith. William was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime dock worker in the trucking industry. William was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Minnie Jean Smith; 1 son, Billie Gene Smith; and several siblings. Survivors include his son, Robert Smith of Choctaw, OK; 1 grandson, Robert William Smith of Choctaw, OK; 1 step-grandson, Jason Arnold of Bristow, OK; 2 sisters, Jennie Ballenger of Sweetwater, Texas; and Jean Griffith of Lexington, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 at Redden Cemetery near Stringtown, Oklahoma with burial to follow Military Honors rendered by a U.S. Marine Corps Honors Detail in Redden Cemetery.
