Wendell Wells Hart Jr., age 79, of Oklahoma City, OK died of a brain stroke on June 27, 2018. Wendell was born on January 14, 1939 in Canton, OK to parents Wendell W. Hart, Sr. and Addie Marie Guffy Hart.
After graduation from Canton High School in 1957, he moved to Oklahoma City and worked in a candy plant for more than 45 years. Wendell was a kind, loving, and generous family man. In 1966 he met Margaret Cover at University Place Christian Church. They were married on December 23, 1966 and went on to have 3 children together. Later, the family attended Northwest Christian Church, and then made Village Christian Church their home.
Wendell, along with his beloved wife, Margaret, was deeply involved in his church, volunteering in the neighborhood, and delivering mobile meals. He enjoyed reading his bible daily. He loved going on bus trips and cherished spending time with his family, whether it was working in the yard, solving jigsaw puzzles, biking, traveling, and visiting museums. He was also a member of the Christian Men's Fellowship and worked at Habitat for Humanity.
A visitation for Wendell will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Village Christian Church, 9401 Ridgeview Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73131. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wendell's life.
