She was born August 28, 1923, in Battiest, Oklahoma, to Henry Cliff and Lula Bell McDonald.
On July 16, 1942, she married Loyd Hamilton and they celebrated 65 years together. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1956, where Volon was employed by and retired from the Oklahoma City Water Department.
She was an avid NBA fan and on game days could be found cheering on the OKC Thunder. Over the years, she also enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting, fishing, and spending time with family.
Volon is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Hamilton; her son, Leon Hamilton; her parents, Henry McDonald and Lula McDonald Morrow; two sisters, Ova Parsons and Vera Davis; and six brothers, Clay, Chester, Clifton, Carson, David, and Wilson McDonald.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Koweno and husband Bill and Nancy Hamilton and husband Harold Clokey, both of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Sheryl Tiffany, Shawn LoScalzo and husband Patrick, Darryl Hamilton, and Jeff Koweno and wife Jenny, all of Oklahoma City; six great-grandchildren, Tiffany Howard and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Jillian Hunteman and her husband Sean of Oklahoma City, Cameron Atwood and his wife Kayla of Oklahoma City, and Brittany Burton and her husband Darren of Moore, Carissa Koweno and Jacob Koweno, both of Oklahoma City; nine great-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Addalyn, Mackenzie, Macie, Hallie, Carson, Annabelle, Khloe, and Jameson.
A visitation for Volon will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will occur Monday, September 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
