While in Oklahoma City he started several businesses and was always ready to take on new opportunities. He had a knack for small business, employing many people over the years. In 1984 he married Gwyn Lacey Bullock and enjoyed traveling to their favorite Hawaiian locations. Virgil was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Gwyn Walters: stepsons, John Finn of Topeka, KS, Scott Finn and wife, Leah of Kansas City, MO and grandchildren Zachary, Liv, Noah and Wells. Daughter Karen Walters Palmateer of Moore, Ok, granddaughter Alyssa Palmateer and great Adrienne Palmateer. Virgil will be remembered as a kind and generous person.
The family would like to thank Oklahoma Hospice and Tuscany Village Nursing Center, where you would hear Virgil is “my favorite resident” each visit. Thank you to dear friends for visits and support. Growing up Virgil did not have much to eat.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and others alike, make a donation to the Food Bank in his honor; he would greatly appreciate the sentiment.
