Vesta Mae Hunter Bowers

She graduated from Southeast High School in 1964. In 1982, she earned her degree in Secondary Education at Central State University, now UCO. She went on to teach at Midwest City High School from 1983 until 2005.

Vesta enjoyed spending time with her son and his friends, reading, quilting and making clothing for her 2 granddaughters, and genealogy. She was a wonderful lady who will be dearly missed.

Vesta is survived by her brother, Ben Hunter and her son, Michael Bowers. Vesta was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Hunter and her father Sam Hunter.

A graveside services will 10am, Tuesday, June 7th at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 North Kelly, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A celebration of Vesta’s life will be held after the service at 11:00 a.m. at Pelican’s Restaurant located at 291 North Air Depot Boulevard Midwest City, OK 73110.
