On December 30, 1957, Van Quoc Pham entered his life; brought in by his father Quan Pham and mother Hien Hoang Pham. In 1975 Van and his family migrated from Vietnam as part of a refugee program, and has lived in Oklahoma City ever since. He graduated from John Marshall High School and worked towards his associate degree in drafting at Oklahoma State University. Van married the love of his life Dia, on May 17, 1986.
Van loved many things in life, like music spanning various genres, although his favorite musicians were Lobo, Santana, and The Bee Gees. He liked neutral colors such as black, gray, and white and enjoyed watching and playing sports. To Van, a perfect day is full with laughs, grilling in the backyard with his friends and family. Van showed his love by spending time with family, friends, and his beloved dogs. He taught his loved ones to never complain, have tolerance, the power of enduring obstacles, and to have patience.
Van was a self-taught drummer and a key member of Ly Huong band. For 42 years, Van worked for Fred Jones as a Core Specialist, showing his dedication and hard work as a key contributor to his team and the company.
Van is preceded death by his parents Quan Pham and Hien Hoang Pham.
Van’s love continues on through his wife Dia Pham, his daughters Erika Pham and Victoria Pham both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, siblings Nga Nguyen of Ha Noi, Vietnam, Dung Nguyen and spouse Quy Nguyen Ha Noi, Vietnam, Huan Tran and spouse Diep Tran of Houston, Texas, Vu Pham and spouse Quynh Pham, of Houston, Texas, Thu Pham Luong and spouse, Ly Luong of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Hoa Pham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Chi Pham and spouse, Tung Vu of Saint Paul, Minnesota, his six nieces and five nephews.
A visitation and wake in honor of Van will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A chapel service at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5024 N. Grove Avenue, Warr Acres, Oklahoma 73122, will be on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Resurrection Cemetery.
