Timothy Deyon Mathis

Timothy Deyon Mathis was born the eldest child and only son of the late Donald E. Mathis and Sherly Christine (Patterson) Mathis on March 18, 1961. Tim had recently retired after more than 20 years as a Secrity Officer (CLEET 2 certified) with Securitas. Tim was a devoted son, loving husband and father, and beloved “Pappy Tim.” Tim passed away at home on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was 62 years old.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Mathis; his step-father, George Hargett; and his step-sister Valerie (Val) Hargett and her spouse Chris Patrick.

Tim is survived by his mother, Sherly Christine Hargett of Midwest City; his wife of 40 years, Julie-Ann W. (Raposa) Mathis of Midwest City; a son, Johnny Raposa and wife Tara of Midwest City; a daughter, Amanda Marie (Mathis) Leggett and husband Charles of Sealevel, NC; four adoring grandchildren, Caleb, Lucy, Leilani, and Madison, two sisters; April (Mathis) Coleman and husband Dale, and Amy (Mathis) Bowen Walker and husband David; two step-sisters, Trudy Hargett, and Georgetta Hargett Skaggs and husband Lyndal; a half-sister, Kelley Hargett; six nieces and nephews, Sara Coleman Bettes and husband Trent, Benjamin Bowen, Matthew Ramos and wife McKala, Jessica Patrick, Taylor Skaggs, and Alex Skaggs; and one great-niece, Leo-Jane Skaggs. Tim is also survived by numerous friends, colleagues, and coworkers.

A Memorial Service will be held at in the Event Center of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 8805 NE 23rd St, Oklahoma City, OK on Tuesday, June 27 at 10:00 AM the dress code will be casual. The service will be officiated by Tim’s son-in-law, Rev. Charles Leggett. A time of visitation remembrance will follow the service.
