Terry was born in Hollis, Oklahoma, on July 1, 1953, to Edwin and Jo Ella Gee. He grew up in Del City and attended Crooked Oak Schools. Upon his graduation from high school, he returned to Hollis where he farmed and worked as a lineman with Harmon Electric. Given his magnetic personality and friendly manner, he was asked to join Temple Supply to sell industrial electrical supplies across the region, a job he held with various companies until his retirement in 2014. He was known for impeccable service and dependability, especially during times of weather crises.
Terry’s passion was traveling. He was an adventure seeker and enjoyed immersing himself in different cultures across the globe. His adventures took him to Africa, India, Israel, Morocco, Nepal, Vietnam, Europe and many other locations.
Terry loved the beach, the sea, and fishing. After retiring, he moved to Fort Lauderdale. He made many friends in the high-rise where he renovated a condominium with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry. He is survived by his sister, Keli Allen and husband Jeff, niece Kaci Hodges and husband Braden, and nephews Jerry Allen and Matt Allen and wife Betsy, all of Oklahoma City; brother Brent Gee and wife Linda, niece Catherine of Dallas, TX; and nephew Trevor of Charlotte, NC; and best friend and traveling companion, Denis Tseretopoulos of East Northport, NY.
His ashes will be interred next to his parents and brother at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City and a portion will also be spread at sea on what would have been his 65th birthday, July 1st.
A reception celebrating his life will be held Friday, March 16th, 5-7 pm at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ALS Association at alsa.org.
