Suzanne (Suzy), died peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home in Norman, Oklahoma. Suzy was born November 26, 1938, in Oklahoma City to James and Ruby Eagleton. Suzy graduated from NW Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in German. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and continued to serve on the advisory and corp board. Suzy married Don R. Nicholson II on November 24, 1960, and they had three children, Kirk, Kent and Debra. She actively volunteered for Sparks tutoring children, helped to find suitable homes for deprived children with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and a variety of volunteer work with Second Chance Animal Sanctuary.
She was active in church and bible study and strongly held onto her faith throughout her life. She enjoyed walking regularly. She loved basset hounds and riding horses with Don. Her family had a house in Crested Butte, Colorado where she and the family enjoyed skiing in winter and riding horses in the Fall.
Suzy enjoyed taking college classes on many subjects. A funny story from Don, is that he wanted her to take a course that he had taken in college. Don got an average grade and Suzy got a perfect score, where the professor recommended that she should be the one that finds a job and Don should stay home and take care of the house. Which then motivated Don to go to law school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Eagleton, her brothers, Jim and Bobby, and her parents-in-law, Don and Ruth Nicholson. Surviving are her husband, Don R. Nicholson II, her children, Kirk Nicholson, Kent Nicholson, and Debra Nicholson, five grandchildren, Max Nicholson, Sam Nicholson, Nicholson (Nick) Keller, Kort Nicholson and Boden Scheurich. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Nicholson, sister-in-law, Susie Nicholson, and their children, Michael Anne Siscoe and Matt Nicholson, and their grandchildren, Madylan, Madison, Kendon, Carly and Sarah.
