Susie is survived by her beloved husband Jim Frogge of Oklahoma City, OK. Susie also is survived by her brother Michael Harkey of Oklahoma City, OK; son Mark Frogge and wife Leigh of Joplin, MO; son Greg Frogge and wife Elain of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter-in-law Molly Frogge of Greensboro, NC; “Grammy”-children Emma, Caroline, Luke, Hannah, Lindsey, Maggie and Michael; and great-“Grammy”-children Ryder, James, Vivian and Markham. Susie was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Gin Harkey of Oklahoma City, OK; brother Ron Harkey of Oklahoma City, OK; and son Scott Frogge of Greensboro, NC.
Susie was born on November 8, 1941 in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Classen High School in 1959 and Oklahoma State University in 1963. Susie met the love of her life Jim on a blind date in college and was soon married in 1961. Susie and Jim shared and enjoyed countless travels, family pets, and a passion for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
Susie and Jim were blessed with a wonderful loving marriage that lasted over 61 years. They lived, worked and played in Oklahoma City, OK, Kansas City, MO, Joplin, MO, New Orleans, LA, Coronado, CA and San Diego, CA. Family meant everything to Susie. She was a loving mother and strong advocate and protector of her three sons. Her companionship, parenting, mentoring, fun-loving spirit and shining example will live on for generations. Throughout her life, Susie was actively involved in many charities, including the Humane Society, Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.
The family would like to especially thank the team at Bellevue Health & Rehabilitation and Lifecare Hospice for their compassionate care, and Rev. Joseph C. Alsay, Rector, St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, for his prayers and support.
A family service is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Joplin, MO Humane Society, the Salvation Army Jasper Newton County, MO, and St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, Oklahoma City, OK.
