Stephen Emmit York of Midwest City, was a caring husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He left this world on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the age of 53. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Rebecca York of Choctaw Oklahoma.
Stephen was married to the love of his life, Ginger York for over 30 years. He was a loving father of two children, Taylor Taylor and husband Mathew Taylor of Noble, and Allison York of Midwest City. Proud grandfather of Thomas York, Kyndal Ferris, Grayson Taylor, Preston Taylor, Kol Ferris, and Lyla Ferris.
Steve was a retired metal worker who enjoyed building and repairing anything pertaining to metal. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, martial arts, and hanging out with the grandkids. His goal in life was to ensure that all of his kids and grandkids were safe and happy. You would see him hanging out in the kitchen playing chess with one of the grandkids on many occasions. He was a generous friend to all and would help any person in need regardless of the situation.
Steve was a new member of Life Church of Midwest City Oklahoma. He was a Christian who served in his younger years with Missionary, Denny Holtzbaur traveling around doing Christian demonstrations in prisons and in other countries.
Steve will be honored with a service held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Life Church in Midwest City Oklahoma.
