Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John H. Varner, some children and grandchildren as well.
Shirley is survived by siblings, Louise Hill and family, and Rene Lundgren and family; children, Mac Varner, Paula Branscom, Victoria Elukhanyeni, Ellen Varner- Fisher, John H. Varner II; step-child Eunice Crossgrove and their families; also her grandson and wonderful caretaker, Glenn R. Varner and copious amounts of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends and other family.
