Shirley Ryan

Shirley Ryan was born March 11, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and entered into eternal life on August 11, 2010. Although she lived for a short time in Houston, Texas and in Germany, she lived almost her entire life in the Oklahoma City area. She is survived by her husband Gary Ryan of the home, step-children, Tim Ryan, Kelly Ryan, Kelly's partner, Cindy Radford, Shannon Hitchcock, Shannon's husband, Brace, their children Brendan and Tristan whom Shirley loved very much. Shirley is also survived by her sister Dempsey Short, her brother, Jerry Steward and his wife Tammy, her sister Anita Morris, and her brother, Tommy Steward, special friend, Patsy Ryan, and Marie Davis, Shirley's caretaker during her final illness that Shirley loved. Shirley is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Ruby Steward, her brothers, Charles Steward and Paul Steward, her sister, Darlene Roberts, her brother-in-law, Dean Short and her first husband, Jim Kimray.

Until illness limited her activities late in her life, Shirley was active, energetic, fun-loving and she always enjoyed life. She was a loving wife, step-mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a long-time employee of Pritchard Electric Company and later was office manager at the Steward Law Firm for twenty-two years. Shirley was a very special person to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 at Victory Christian Church, 4300 North MacArthur, Oklahoma City.
