Sharon Ann Burns was surrounded by her loving children and passed away at her home in Warr Acres on January 24, 2022. She is now their guardian angel forever. Sharon Ann Reding was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on April 2, 1943 to Herman and Ardoth (Bond) Reding.
As a very young child, the family moved to Shawnee and she enjoyed the country life - most everything country in fact. She enjoyed country music; specific artists such as Neil Diamond, Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams and Charlie Pride were among her favorites.
Sharon married quite young for today’s standards. She was married to Ed Miller for 20 years and they had three amazing children who she formed a close bond with to the very end: Kristy, Todd and Leslie. Sharon was also married to Ed Burns for 20 years and he preceded her in death.
For a while, Sharon lived in Hinton on an ostrich farm and she was very hands-on. She was an ostrich doctor, birthing and operating on the birds. She found great joy on the farm. Sharon enjoyed working in her herb garden and had quite the green thumb. Other hobbies of hers included a love for painting and working with stained glass.
Sharon was a hard worker and taught her family that with hard work came great accomplishments and together, family can endure anything.
She was a long-time member of Putnam City Baptist Church.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronnie Reding.
Sharon is survived by her loving children Kristy Lynn Miller of Del City, OK, Eddie Todd Miller and wife Joan Miller of Luther, OK, Leslie Parrish Miller of Warr Acres, OK; sisters Delores Lemon of Stillwater, OK and Peggy Bartosh and husband Glen Bartosh of Tennessee; grandchildren Ariel Miller, Jourdan Miller, Moriah Miller, Stephanie Greg-Graf, Taylor Miller; great grandson Greyson Winfrey; 4 nieces and one nephew and her constant companions Buster and Sophie.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Sharon will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 South Rock Creek Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
