Sandra Lee Nona, 72, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away March 24, 2015. She was born July 21, 1942 in Anderson, Indiana. Sandra graduated from New Buffalo High School in Michigan in 1960 and on March 14, 1964 she married William P. Nona and the two raised their 2 children together. Sandra became one of the first women to drive a truck in Wisconsin. She was a teamster as well as members of the United Auto Workers Union and Steel Workers Union. She worked for GM at the Trent, Michigan plant before transferring to the Oklahoma City plant where she retired after 28 1\2 years of service. As a loyal GM employee, she hated foreign cars and proclaimed them banned from her driveway. After her retirement Sandra worked odd jobs to stay busy. She enjoyed traveling and took vacations in Vegas and the Grand Canyon, but the Colorado Mountains were favorite destination. Sandra also enjoyed reading crime and mystery novels as well as historical books, and Laura Ingalls was one of her favorite authors. She passed many evenings watching Game of Thrones with her daughter, Kimberly. Sandra loved her cats and especially her horse, Girlie, and could often be found riding, grooming and tending to her. Above all, Sandra loved her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Nona; grandchildren, Ashley Fann, Elizabeth McDonald and Ariel Nona; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of loving friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Peter Nona; son, Peter Raymond Nona; and her infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Nona. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home Chapel.
