RP Wise, Jr.

RP Wise, JR. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 4, 2012. RP was born in Pinebluff, AR on July 19, 1927 to parents RP and Jenny Wise. RP served in the US Navy on the USS Zeilin - APA3 1st Division out of San Francisco, CA 1943- 1946. He toured the Marshal Islands, Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, West Coast of New Guinea, Langenah Bay, Hollandia, Philippine Islands, Solomon Islands and many other destinations. On January 2, 1948, RP married Edith O. Adkisson of Oklahoma City, who preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Bob Wise, of Searcy, AR and one sister Sally Powell of England, Arkansas. RP has two sons, Stan Wise of Midwest City and Tom Wise of Bethel Acres. He was blessed with two grandsons, Michael Wise and Brian Wise, one granddaughter, Melanie Caron, in addition there are three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by his wife Doris’s children Robert and Wanda Grandstaff, Stan and Diane Hackett, and a host of grandchildren. He was known as “Grandpa” to many. At different times RP was manager of the Champlin Truck Stop then parts manager for Bus Horton and Southwest Ford. In 1974 RP and Edith opened Wise Discount Cycle Parts of Midwest City. He turned his motorcycle hobby into a business and was successful until retirement in 1989. RP married Doris D. Williams on August 8, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was an active member of the Northeast Freewill Baptist Church of Shawnee. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 6th from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
