Ronald Lee Lessley, 82, passed away on January 8, 2021 at his home in Choctaw, OK surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was born on April 13, 1938 in Hanson, OK to parents Sam & Mildred (Staffen) Lessley.
Ronald acquired a BA in Economics with a Teaching Certification from Park College, MO. Ronald spent 26 years serving his country in the United States Air Force, he entered the service on May 31st of 1956. While in the Air Force Ronald received a Commendation Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, a Good Conduct Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, an Expeditionary Medal for Korea, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal. He served in Thailand, Korea, the Republic of China, Arizona, Michigan, and Alaska in surveying, drafting, and construction inspection. At Sheppard Air Force Base he was a technical writer and instructor. He was in Manpower at Hill Air Force Base, Utah and at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
Ronald also owned real estate and a property management office in Midwest City, OK for many years where he worked with his wife. He also raised miniature horses, was a lifetime member of AMHA, he served on the Board of Directors for 6 years, and was a faithful member of the Choctaw United Methodist Church in Choctaw, OK. Ronald loved to visit, he loved his family, family gatherings, reading and retirement. He never met a stranger or a person he couldn’t visit with.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Mildred Lessley; brother, Jesse Lessley and great-granddaughter, Eleanor Lucy Davis “Ellie”
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sharon Louise (Johnson) Lessley, whom he married on the 28th of December in 1959 (62 years); son, Rick Lessley & wife Ronda of Choctaw, OK; daughter, Deborah Holmes & husband Patrick of Harrah, OK; daughter Kathryn Green & husband Michael of Choctaw, OK; grandchildren, Jason King & wife Rachel of Harrah, OK; Jennifer Hall & husband Ryan of Choctaw, OK; Lessley Davis & husband Ryan of LaVista, NE; Joshua Green & wife Danielle of Midwest City, OK; Emily Reece & husband Logan of Midwest City, OK; Andrew Stevens & wife Kandy of Arkansas, and Antinotte Marlow & husband Jeremy of Ohio; as well as 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughter, and a brother, Jerry Lessley & wife Charlotte of Sallisaw, OK.
