

Robert (Bob) was born in Rock Island, IL and earned his degree in Geology and from Augustana College. After extensive post-graduate work at the University of Iowa, Bob pursued his lifelong love of geology as an independent oil producer in Oklahoma. He was a longtime member and officer of the Geological Geophysical Society, a 57-year member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He was instrumental in the early exploration and development of the Anadarko Basin. Bob was also a music enthusiast and avid art and record collector whose zest for life touched all those he met.
Bob is survived by his wife, Arlene M. Scott of Edmond, OK; his devoted children Jeff Scott and Sherrill Scott of Edmond and Laura Vandivort of Sikeston, Mo; his grandchildren Laurence Scott of Edmond and Ashley Scott and Brooke Scott of Oklahoma City, Jacob Thompson of Delray Beach, FL and Robert Thompson of Seattle, WA; and great grandchildren Michael Scott, Maylee Thompson and Kasen Sandell. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Scott of Austin, TX and his dear aunt, Jean Dillon of Moline, IL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betsy Young of Chicago, IL. His generosity, congeniality and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, March 20th, 2016 from
2-6 p.m. and a funeral service on Monday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 N. Kelley Ave. in Oklahoma City. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
