Robert Ross Rutherford, Jr. was born in Oklahoma City to Dovie May Woods and Robert Ross Rutherford, Sr. He worked with his father in the Bob Rutherford Upholstery shop. Bob was a Boy Scout leader and made great lasting relationships with the boys who would come back to visit him later in life.
Bob and Sandy attended Community of Christ Church where they were active members. They had an RV and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra; sister Betty Wiyninger; sons Steve, David and Mark Rutherford; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 3 step children, Anita Harnden, David Quick and Tamara Slover; one niece and one nephew and many friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
