Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years Lynn, one daughter, Michelle Houchin of Edmond, OK, brother Jimmy Jardee and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City, OK, sister Linda Witty of Del City, OK and two grandchildren, Celeste Houchin and Evan Brown of Edmond, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents Wendell and Eula (Hayden) Jardee, of Del City, OK.
Bob was born on July 2, 1942 in Shawnee, OK. He graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1960. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University and Master’s from the University of Oklahoma. Bob began his career as a licensed aircraft mechanic and served in the National Guard. He was an Aircraft Mechanics teacher at Foster Estes Vo-Tech for many years before becoming the project manager and Director of the Metro Tech Aviation Career Center at Will Rogers World Airport for 10 years which he was most proud of. He was employed by the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission as the Aviation Development Manager before his retirement.
Bob enjoyed fishing, spending time and getting together with family and close friends, attending the Oshkosh Air Show on many occasions, watching OU football, his grandson play football and tinkering in his shop with his special cat, Babyling, always close by.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his physicians Dr. F.K. Underhill, Dr. Alexandra Ikeguchi and their staff, along with the ER physicians and nurses at OU Medical Center Edmond, the 2nd Floor ICU department at OU Medical Center and Dr. Adam S Asch, his entire team along with the nurses and staff on the 7th Floor of OU Medical Center. The care and compassion both shown and given to him during this time is appreciated more than words could ever express.
A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 on April 23rd at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131 with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
