Became a believer in Christ Jesus and was baptized while he was a teenager. He was a faithful servant and attended Mayfair Church of Christ.
His hobbies were Bowling with his Dad, Brother and nephews on the Bakery Bowling team for years, Fishing, James Bond movies, listening to music, playing miniature golf with his nieces and nephews, traveling with his beloved Mother before he married, and traveling with his wife Ruth to many exciting places over the years. He also took a course in Archeology at St. Luke’s and a Real Estate course at Blackwood College. He was very close to his cousin Kenny Black and they had so many good memories together.
He was the son of Bill and Anna Faye Brown from Oklahoma City.
While in grade school, and high school he worked at Brown's Bakery part time -10 years.
He Graduated from Classen high school in 1964.
He Served proudly for our country in the U.S. Marines in 1966, a Corporal who fought in Vietnam as a radio relay operator dispatcher. Honorably discharged in 1968.
He received awards for NATOEFSM, VSM, & RVN at Camp Middleton.
When he returned home, he worked for Tinker Air Force base repairing aircraft machinery for a while, then started working in sales and catering for Brown’s Bakery full time. He retired in 2015 after more than 58 years with the Bakery.
He met a special young lady at Church and Married her. His wedding was in October of 1979 when he pledged his love to Ruth Gearhart. He was a loving husband for 41 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Ruth and brother Bill, brother in law Loren Gearhart, sister in laws: Diane and Ann, nieces and nephews: Steve Hyde, Suzanne Torvi, Brenda Martindale, William Brown, Kent Miller, Jeff Gearhart, Lori Daniell, and multiple great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
Proceeded in death by his parents William and Anna Faye Brown, Sister Carolyn Miller, Sister in law Carolyn "Katie" Brown, Nephews Alan Hyde, Michael and Randy Brown , and niece Sandy Mack, Mother and Father in law: J.A. and Ruth Gearhart, and Brother in law Ray Gearhart.
After a month stay in the VA hospital, Bob returned home and passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus on the morning of September 18th, 2020
His funeral is to be held at Mayfair Church of Christ where he was a faithful member until he passed.
