It is with a heavy heart that we tell you of the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Bob was one of the last of the true gentlemen. He was courageous, diligent and always determined.
Born in Chandler Oklahoma to Minnie Mae and Fletcher Bowles, he moved with his family as a youngster to Oklahoma City.
Bob was a Wilson Wolf, a member of the Casady family and of the Oklahoma Sooners. Bob was a graduate from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was vice president of an insurance company and a longtime member of many civic organizations.
Bob together with Roland Denman, set and started the Casady School Alumni Memorial. He was president of the Alumni Board and won the most active alumni of the year award.
Bob was a Deacon and Stephens Minister at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.
Due to the death of his son Sam on the Illinois River, he organized and set up an emergency and communications system on the Illinois River.
Always an optimist, Popie left us with a legacy of hope, love, resilience and faith. He will be held in our hearts forever.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda, son Owen, daughter Hayden, the Apple of his eye granddaughter Madeleine, and newly born great-granddaughter Remi. He is also survived by his sister Betty Bowles Ashford and husband George, brother Jack Bowles and wife Jan, many nieces and nephews. So important to him was beloved pup Lola.
Services are pending at this time.
