Reva Jean Varner, 93 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord March 29, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born August 15, 1925 in Oklahoma City she was the daughter of Jesse Ross Wingo and Florella May (Conn) Wingo. Jean was a registered nurse, retiring from VA Hospital after a long career. She was very strong in her Christian faith and her relationship with Jesus Christ was her pillar of strength in life. Jean was a longtime member of Dickson Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and later Bella Vista Baptist Church in Arkansas. She was passionate about reading and writing, having written 5 Christian Romance novels and many essays and poems. Jean loved traveling with Bill, her husband of 63 years, and she loved her Maltese dog, “Boo”. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William R. Varner; 3 sisters, Virginia Fincher, Elizabeth Graceffa, and Marilyn Robbins; and 1 great-grandchild, Henry Bickerstaff. Survivors include 5 children, Michael and wife Mary (Albright) Varner, David and wife Becky Varner, Patricia and husband Dennis Shelton, Mary Bickerstaff, and Stephen and wife Kelly Varner; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses our grateful thanks to the many caregivers at Baptist Retirement Village for their loving care for our mother in her last years. Viewing will be available at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, on Friday April 5th from 10am to 8pm, with Family available from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral services will be Saturday April 6th, at 10:00 a.m., at Dickson Baptist Church with Reverend James Little officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
