Ralph Dean Ragan passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma, from complications of multiple myeloma. He was born to Alf and Winnie Ragan on November 10, 1935, in Springhill, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arthur Ragan, Charles Ragan, and Harold Ragan, sisters Louise Ragan, Mary Price, and an infant sister. His wife, Maria Cortez-Ragan also preceded Ralph in death in 2018.
A lifelong resident of Oklahoma, Ralph was known for his friendliness and kindness, which he attributed to growing up on the family farm near Indianola, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
During his retirement, Ralph and his wife, Maria, enjoyed travelling throughout the country, visiting family and sightseeing, rarely missing a graduation ceremony or wedding invitation. He was an avid Dominoes player at his last residence, 24th Place, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Ralph is survived by his brothers Alva Dee Ragan and George Ragan, his sister Katherine Bowen, and sister-in-law Nadine (Arthur) Ragan, all of Indianola, Oklahoma. He has several stepchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended families.
