Phillip Herbert Conley, aged 83, passed away on July 14, 2019 at home. Phil was born to William Joseph and Emily Conley on March 23, 1936 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School and later attend Oklahoma A&M College (OSU). Phil worked beside his grandfather and father for more than 42 years at the Fine Candy Company in Oklahoma City. He met Glenna Bell Thacker in the late 1950’s and they were married on June 29, 1957. They were married for 52 years until Glenna passed away on January 9, 2010. Phil joined the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1953 and served until 1961. He was proud of his service to his country and never missed an opportunity to connect with other service men. Phil became known as the “Candy Man” at his local Walgreens where he visited daily and always brought candy to the employees in the pharmacy. He was a fanatical rock and stamp collector and loved military memorabilia. Phil loved to travel, and Colorado was a favorite destination. Phil was a member of the Church of Christ and was strong in his faith. He was proceeded in death by his wife Glenna; parents Joe and Emily and his brother Joe Dee. He is survived by his daughter Leslie Goode of Oklahoma City and his son Craig Conley and wife Kristine of Grass Valley, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lindsey and her husband Christian of Okinawa, Japan; Taylor of Oklahoma City and Jakob and Wiley of Grass Valley, CA; and three great grandchildren, Brenndon, Madison and Dylan. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
