Arrangements under the directSanders, Peggy Jeanne Ford, passed away July 2, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on December 31, 1924 in Shawnee, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Millard W. Sanders, her son, M. Ford Sanders, her parents, Willie Belle and Clarence Ford and her brother, C.R. Ford. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Belle Maycumber, 3 grandchildren, Matthew Keith Maycumber, Michelle Sanders Quijano, Steven Ford Sanders, 4 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Shirley Ford as well as several nieces and nephews.
“Peg” graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Christian College, in Columbia, MO., where she was Pres. of her Senior Class, and Oklahoma A & M (Oklahoma State) where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta, and graduated in May, 1946. When “Sandy” was discharged from the U.S. Navy to come home from WWII they were married in Crown Heights Methodist Church in OKC.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. First and foremost, a believer, “she had more blessings than she ever deserved and could never get over her bountiful blessings. She was loved by many and we will miss her.
Services will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Crown Heights United Methodist Church, 1021 N.W 37th St. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
