Peggy Mae Hillis

Peggy Mae (Hodge) Hillis, was born in March 22, 1937, in Walker, Oklahoma to Albert Hodge and Dovie Johnston. Peggy left us on Saturday January 25, 2020, after a long hard fight with Alzheimers. Peggy retired from Bradford Village Retirement Center where she worked for 20 years caring for people. Peggy also worked as a waitress and while doing so made a lot of friends who became longtime friends. Peggy married her first husband Bill Moseley Sr. and received their pride and joy Billy Ray Jr. in 1965. Peggy lost her first husband to cancer in 1976. Peggy married John Hills in the late 80s and lived and worked in Edmond during that time. Peggy lost her second husband in 2009. In 2009, after the death of her husband John, she moved in with her son and his family in Jones, Oklahoma and lived a happy life there for over 10 years. She enjoyed sitting on the porch keeping watch of the neighborhood and watching the neighborhood kids play. She love to watch and feed the birds. She loved family get togethers and lived to attend the Johnston family reunion every year in Sulphur. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Peggy loved everyone, she was kind to everyone, and she always had a smile and always offered a helping hand.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father Albert Hodge, her mother Dovie Johnston Hodge, her 1st husband Bill Moseley, her 2nd husband John Hillis, her brother Willis "Corky" Hodge and her sister Reta Fox.

Peggy is survived by one brother Bill "Bunny" Hodge, her son Billy Ray Moseley and his wife Andrea, her granddaughter, Kacia Gross, husband Kyle and great-grandson Dakota, her granddaughter Kirstie Sims and husband Roy and granddaughter Jaycee May Moseley, her step-son Jesse Hillis and his wife Brittney and grandson Johnny and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by all and loved always.

Celebration of Life for Peggy will be on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jones, Oklahoma followed by food and fellowship.
