Pauline Juanita Schuler was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on December 18, 1920, to Clarence Daniel Vincent and Lydia (Leathers) Vincent and departed life on February 25, 2017, her beloved husband, Wes’s birthday. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Schuler, brothers, Ralph Vincent, Wayne Vincent and Carl Vincent, and her husband, Wesley Schuler, who left us only last November.
Polly is survived by brothers Arthur Vincent and Bob Vincent, daughter, Sharon Hull of Oklahoma City, daughter-in-law Tammy Schuler of Edmond, grandchildren, John Blackburn, Kristina Hull, Steven Schuler, Stefanie Schuler, and many great-grandchildren.
Polly and Wes were married in Yale, Oklahoma in 1940. During World War II, Polly lived in New York City, and worked in industry to help the war effort in San Francisco. After the War, Wes and Polly returned to Oklahoma City. She worked as a buyer for a local department store before raising Sharon and Steve. As her children grew, Polly returned to work as a medical secretary.
Wes and Polly both retired in the early 1980s and enjoyed every moment of their retirement together. They traveled all over the world, seeing glaciers, rainforests, mountains and deserts. Polly particularly enjoyed her travels to Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Her family and friends spent many happy hours with her in conversation as she tended her flowers, cooked amazing meals, and enjoyed a warm cup of coffee.
Polly will be remembered as an amazing and attentive friend, loving mother, caring grandmother, beloved great-grandmother, and a strong, inspiring woman.
