Pauli Burke (Mehl), 61, was born October, 22, 1949 in Great Bend, Kansas. She was raised in Buston, KS where she went to school. Half-way through twelfth grade she moved to Lyons, KS and graduated from Lyons High School. In January of 1972, Pauli and her two daughters were in a car/train accident. Both her daughters were killed. Pauli met Joe Burke in 1980 at East Central University. Joe and Pauli were married in the summer of 1980 at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK. They lived for two years on the campus of East Central University and then moved too Bethany, OK. In 1986 they moved into their current home at 2512 N. Adams Ave, OKC. Pauli was a member of Warr Acres Church of the Nazarene and Light Church Nazarene. She was a member of OKC First Church of the Nazarene when she went home to be with the Lord. One of Pauli’s favorite things to do was pray. She faithfully prayed for Pastor Monte Nabors as well as others. She liked to clip and collect coupons to save on the grocery bill, and to make lists of what to get at the store. These activities kept her mind active. Her favorite color was purple. Pauli is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Joe; her brother Wayne Mehl of Virginia; her niece, Jolee and her nephew Brent, both of Oklahoma City, plus other distant family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lois Mehl, her daughters Paula and Teresi and her twin sister, Jolene.
