Patti Jo West

Patti Jo Johnson West was born in Milo, OK, August 7, 1930. Patti met the love of her life, James A. West, while attending junior high in Ada, OK. Patti and James were married October 29, 1950 and spent a wonderful 55 years together until James’ death in 2005. Patti was a P.E. teacher for Putnam City Schools in Oklahoma City until her daughter Lynne graduated from high school in 1973. During her retirement, Patti became actively involved as a Docent at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame for 25 years. Her granddaughter, Kelsey, loved spending time with Patti at the Hall and especially loved working with her “Gram” at the Chuck Wagon Weekend, wearing the pink boots her grandparents gave her. Patti died peacefully Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Integris Hospice House.
