Born in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania, on April 30, 1934, to Oscar and Agnes Dewey, Pat was very close to her two sisters, Susan Sverha (and husband John of Rockville, MD) and Jeanne Cox (and husband Phil of Yukon, OK), brother Bill (and wife Susan of Midwest City, OK) and cousin Mary Ann Lambertsen (and husband John of Tucson, AZ).
Pat attended primary school in Mt. Jewett, PA, and middle school in New Kensington, PA, before moving with her family to Okmulgee, OK, in 1949. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1952, and from Muskogee Baptist Nursing School in 1955. Pat remained close to her high school and nursing school friends throughout her life.
Pat was a devoted sister, wife, mother, aunt and great aunt. In May 1955, she married Dean Cash of Muskogee, OK, and together they had two children: James Dean Cash (and partner Sheila) and Brett William Cash (and partner James), both of MWC. Pat and Dean celebrated their 58th anniversary this past year. Pat adored her family, and will be remembered as beloved aunt by her niece and nephews Lisa Dewey (and husband Steve), Dr. John Sverha, Michael Dewey (and wife Tina), Jeffrey Cox (and wife Christina), Jason Cox (and wife Kendy); and nine grand nieces and nephews Aidan, Anna, Bailey, Skyler, Stefan, Lauren, Nolan, Joseph, and Bennett. She will also be remembered by longtime friends and caregivers John and Marie Hatfield of MWC.
Pat worked as a registered nurse at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa and at Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, OKC, for approximately 25 years, and was a faithful and active member of Faith Lutheran Church, OKC, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, MWC.
Pat loved and was loved by her many family members and close friends. She taught her family to treasure and honor family traditions, a source of great joy. She and her husband Dean built a spacious house on an acreage and made it a home for countless enjoyable gatherings with family and friends over the years. Following her husband Dean's retirement, Pat and Dean took memorable cross country trips in their motor home. She enjoyed arts & crafts, the performing arts and caring for others. Pat maintained her love for learning throughout the years. Pat struggled with physical limitations for many years, and her determined spirit, extraordinary strength and unconditional love will be missed dearly.
