Parke Metzer has passed away just short of his 28th birthday. Parke was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Edmond. He attended school at Edmond North High School and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Media Production from the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. It was always his dream from a very young age to become a movie director and he wrote, cast, directed, filmed and edited dozens of short films, several of which were entered and won awards at film festivals throughout the United States.
Parke was a spelling, geography and tennis champion in school and for three years attended Quartz Mountain Arts Institute for film making, during which time he directed three award-winning short films. He is listed on IMDB where most of his projects are posted.
Parke leaves behind his mother and step-father, Tetene and Steve Meltzner, father and step-mother Greg and Carla Metzer, sister Olivia Metzer, grandmothers Sue Hood and Val Metzer, as well as countless other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by grandfathers J. William Hood and Jim Metzer.
