Otto Albert (Corky) Fabian, 83 of Stigler, OK, departed this earth on March 28, 2024, after a fatal car crash. Corky, as he was known to his family and friends, entered this world on January 30, 1941, to Otto J. Fabian and Nellie M. (Bryan) Fabian in Oklahoma City, OK.
As a young man, Corky was a Golden Glove boxer. Afterwards, he became a diesel mechanic and a frame and alignment mechanic before he chose to start his own business: CP Trucking and Welding. Corky also drove for his business.
In 1962, Corky met Shirley Jean Dixson of Byars, OK. They were married November 24, 1962, and Corky and Shirley went on to have two children, James Albert Fabian and Shelley Renee (Fabian) Waughtel.
In his spare time, Corky loved watching his son, James, race at the State Fair Speedway, as well as Lawton, and Meeker, and various other tracks around Oklahoma where Corky enjoyed being the owner/mechanic on the Fabian racing team.
In 2020, Corky retired to spend his time fishing and boating with family and friends at Lake Eufaula. Corky also enjoyed his time in the casino playing poker and slots.
Corky was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Jean Fabian, his father, Otto J. Fabian; his mother, Nellie M. Fabian; and his sister, Fannie Sue Winters. Corky is survived by his son James Albert Fabian and his wife Suesi; his daughter, Shelley Renee (Fabian) Waughtel and her husband Tim. He leaves six grandchildren, Kenney Albert Fabian; Brock Anthony Daniels and his wife Abby; Madison Rae Daniels; Brittaney Nicole Daniels; Tyler Timothy Waughtel and his wife Rachel; and Rachel Christine Waughtel and her husband, Spencer Doll. Corky also left four great-grandchildren, Tinsley Nicole Stephens, Ryker Tyler Waughtel, Harlan Mason Shirley, and Thomas Houston Shirley. Corky also leaves behind numerous family and friends and of course, his faithful furry companion, Reba.
A Celebration of Life for Corky will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK, at 10:00am. Attendees are encouraged to wear every day, normal clothes – wear what you would have been wearing had you bumped into Corky on the street.
