Mrs. Oneta Colleen Webb (Hunt) was born on March 25, 1930 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Wilbur Daunton Hunt and Pansy Ann Hunt. She grew up in Blackwell, Oklahoma with childhood years also spent in Abilene, Odessa and Albany Texas. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1947. Oneta attended Oklahoma Baptist University, graduating in 1951 with a B.A. Degree in Speech. While at OBU she met and married Alvin E. Webb on July 2, 1949. After graduation they made their home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She worked several years at Tinker Air Force Base in the Department of Procurement. Oneta loved people and she loved her Lord Jesus. She rang handbells for many years in the Classic Handbell Choir directed by Mrs. Patty Arnold. She sang in the Adult Choir and taught children’s Sunday School at both First Baptist Church Midwest City and later at Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City. She was a special worker for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, Member of the Assist Team for Capitol Assistance and led Children’s Leadership Conferences throughout the state during the 1980s. Oneta was an active volunteer at the Midwest City Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. She is survived by her son, Al Webb and his wife Kellie of Ozark, MO, daughter, Laura Pergande and her husband Paul of Austin, TX, four grandchildren, Hunter and Price Webb and Phillip and Lydia Pergande and one brother, Tom Sims of Blackwell, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin E. Webb and an infant daughter. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Mid-Del Missions, Master’s Market through Meadowood Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Wellington Parke Retirement Community for their love and care. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Meadowood Baptist Church.
