On February 23, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma, Norma Lou Dill was born to Onnie Ruel and Edra Norma Dill. The family later moved to Oklahoma City. Norma had a very close relationship with each of her parents, as she was their only child. Norma recalled often very fond stories of life with her family.
In her school years, Norma enjoyed learning and dreaming alongside her friends of what all life would hold for them. In 1964, Norma and her friends graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City and began pursuing the life adventures they had dreamed of.
Norma enjoyed her career at Rose State College, where she was an assistant in the science department. Norma met her husband, Phillip Charles Moore, during their common years at Rose State College. They were married August 10, 1991 in Newcastle, Oklahoma and enjoyed 24 years of marriage together before his passing in 2015.
Norma was a lifelong bookworm, usually with the next several books already stacked nearby. She loved a good funny story and was known to delight those around her with her lovely laughter. She was very blessed by lifelong friendships such as Peggy and Kay who she met in 8th grade and treasured to her final days. After retirement and Philips’ passing, Norma enjoyed her weekly lunch and games of cards or dominoes with Peggy, Kay, Elaine, Joyce, Jacquetta, and Jeannie. Cindy and Jenny were also friends who Norma treasured in her later years. Norma had great appreciation for the special friends she met who were part of her daily life and good care for her at Teal Creek. Her constant companion was her beloved cat, Rowan.
Norma Lou Moore passed away February 17, 2023 in Edmond Oklahoma.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Philip Moore, her parents Onnie and Edra Dill, and her mother-in-law Leta Moore. Norma and Philip will rest in peace together at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. She is dearly missed by all who knew her.
