Norma J. Ball, 71, of Jones, passed away 8/16/13. She was born in High Wycombe Bucks, England on 12/2/41 to Miriam Newberry. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend. She is survived by husband, Jack Ball; son, Stoney Ball; 4 daughters: Jody Mills (Don) , Sherrie Speaker (Burke), Tracy Streeper (Joe), Lisa Harmon (David); dear friend Sara Humphrey; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous friends. Norma loved shopping for bargains at garage sales and Goodwill and never came home without a great find for someone else, whether it was a shirt or pair of pants that she lovingly laundered, mended and pressed. She also kept her family in fashionable clothes that were often the envy of their school friends with her careful shopping. Norma loved cooking, reading, knitting and spent many afternoons following General Hospital. She even caught one episode while in the hospital having a procedure done. Norma was a huge fan of Luciano Pavarotti. One of her fondest memories was seeing him in concert with her granddaughter and putting Shana on stage with him. He finished taking his bows with her on stage and dedicated an encore to her. Norma was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet him afterwards. Norma was always generous and when it came to her beloved friends and family she was very gutsy doing whatever it took to take care of them and make sure they had what was needed. She was much more than a home maker, she was an amazing person who took much pride in her home and family. Norma and Jack’s home was always warm and safe to anyone that needed a place to stay or a hot meal. She had so much love to give that it extended outside her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends that she adored and who adored her.
