Nelda June Young

Nelda J. Young, 92, went to be with her Lord on July 21, 2024. She was born on June 6, 1932, in Piedmont, OK. Her parents were Charles and Ursula Enterline. Nelda graduated from Piedmont High School and married Lonnie Luschen on August 27, 1950. Nelda and Lonnie had 2 girls during their marriage, Carol Renea Brandon and Rhonda Kay Frizzell. Later, Nelda married John Young on February 8, 1964, and they had a daughter, Brenda Lynn Roberts; two step-sons Johnny Young and James Young and a step-daughter Joan Tripp.

During her lifetime, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator, bank teller, print shop worker at Tinker Air Force Base, a beautician and a Dr.’s Asst. Most importantly, Nelda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a devout Christian woman. Nelda loved her church family and loved teaching Bible class to all ages. Her wonderful Christian examples were a true testimony of her deep love for God. Her legacy will continue to impact the lives of her family, friends and all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Brandon and husband Jim; Rhonda Frizzell and husband Gary; Brenda Roberts and husband Mark, step-daughter Joan Tripp and husband Thurlow, step-son Johnny Young and wife Melodie and step-son James Young and wife LaWanda; 36 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson’s Micheal Burress and Kaleb Frizzell; her parents and all of her siblings.

A visitation for Nelda will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Choctaw Church of Christ, 14998 E Reno Ave, Choctaw, OK 73020. The burial will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
