Nan A. Williams went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 30, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nannie Florence was born to Edgar Poe and Mary Clifton Allen on September 23, 1925, in Garber, Oklahoma. She lived in several oil field camps before the family settled in Seminole, OK in 1928. Nan graduated from Seminole Public Schools in 1943. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1946 with a degree in Speech with an English minor and received the MA degree in 1949. She met a fine young man, Emory C. Williams, at Olivet Baptist Church, and they were married there on October 10, 1953. Her special interest at Olivet was in missions, and she served as director of Women’s Missionary Union for 31 years. She became a docent at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City in 2003, where she made many friends and had many enjoyable experiences. Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant son, Roger Kent. She is survived by her children: Suzanne Mooney and husband, John, of Harrah; sons David of OKC, Brian of Evergreen, CO; and Brent of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by grandchildren: Rickey Dockery of Casper, WY; Rachel Battles and her husband, Josh, of Midwest City; Sela Solomon, of Dundas, Ontario, Canada; Scott Mooney of OKC, and Clifford Mooney of OKC. Great grandchildren are: Korlyn Sweeney (Dockery), Dominic Dockery, and Corbyn Mooney. Her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Kay Allen of Austin, TX and their sons Rod and Greg and their families also survive her.
