Melvin Chester Ervin

Melvin Chester Ervin went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at age 63. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had several passions besides his devotion to his Lord. Along with a love for doing mission work with his church, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his son, brothers, nephews and special friends. Melvin was an electrical contractor, respected and adored by his many customers who became great friends. No words can describe how much he will be missed. He is survived by his mother, Lupy Goodlin, wife Martie Ervin and her two children and grandchildren, his daughter, Kelly Stoops, her husband, David, their children, Hayden and Carson, son, Brian Ervin, his wife, Dusty, their children Logyn and Luke, siblings, Elvin Ervin, Mike Pruitt, Joe Pruitt, JR Pruitt, Sheila Riggs, Marca Ervin, and their families, mother, Johnnie Ervin, and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Ervin, his brother, Darrell Ervin, and his granddaughter, Kassidy Stoops. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 4:00pm-8:00pm at Guardian West Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 131 NW 4th St., OKC, OK 73102, OK at 1:00pm with interment to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
