Maxine Watson

Maxine Lorraine Watson, 86, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023. Maxine was born on October 8, 1937 in Royalston, Massachusetts to Richard and Marilyn Earley. She graduated from nursing school in Greenfield, Massachusetts in 1958 as a Registered Nurse.

Maxine specialized in Oncology for 42 years working for the Cancer Research Foundation and Baptist Hospital in Breast Cancer treatment. She was a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, American Nurses Association, and Oklahoma Nurses Association. Maxine was also a true gourmand and gifted cook, and loved OU football.

Maxine is survived by her brother, Richard Earley and wife Rose of Leominster, MA; brother, Wayne Earley and wife Debbie of Celebration, FL; sister-in-law, Janice Nash and husband Judd of Midwest City, OK; and brother-in-law Rick Watson and wife Cyndi of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Don Watson, they shared 49 years of marriage, and parents, Richard and Marilyn Earley.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Advantage Funeral Home, 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Maxine Watson’s name to the American Cancer Society of Oklahoma.
