On September 19, 2024 Mary Sue “Suzie” Loy took her final steps on this earth and went to be with the Lord Jesus. Suzie was born on January 2, 1934 in Enid, Oklahoma to parents Charles Fremont Sprague, Jr. and Margaret Harrison (Hacker) Sprague.
Suzie spent her formative years in Medford, Oklahoma and would go onto go to receive her college education at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she became a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
On April 5, 1954 she would marry the love of her life, Sam E. Loy III. They raised a family of four sons and spent a wonderful 70 years together. Suzie was an avid reader of books, especially the Bible and other religious literature. A perfect day for Suzie would be “lunch with the girls” and an afternoon of reading and studying. She will be remembered as a strong and compassionate wife and mother, teaching her children discipline and compassion.
Suzie’s daily life made it apparent that she loved the Lord Jesus, her family and her friends. During her life, Suzie was always quite active in several churches, a leader in Bible Study Fellowship and always willing to serve where needed. At Metropolitan Bible Church, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was in charge of funeral dinners.
Suzie is preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law DiDi Loy wife of Sam E Loy IV.
She is survived by her husband Sam E. Loy III, her children Stephen “Steve” S. Loy of Houston, Texas, Charles “Chuck” E. Loy and wife Melyssa of Austin, Texas, Sam E.
