Mary was the 4th of 5 children, Bernita, Wilber, Maxine, and Joe. Mary's fighting spirit and strong will to live let her see 84 wonderful years of life. Mary loved Jesus more than anything and was always willing to share his love. She had business cards that she handed out that stated, "If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing; but if you meet JESUS CHRIST and forget Him, you have lost everything. On June 5, 1950 she met the love of her life, Jim Crawford, on the bridge in Buffalo. She lured him by telling him she owned a horse and shotguns. They were later married on June 19, 1955 and just celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Mary always said she earned a PhD from the University of Concrete and Hard Knocks. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother to Marcus and Jamie, both of Yukon. But becoming a grandmother to Kaycie and Kenlie brought her the most enjoyment. The girls enjoyed more tree climbing adventures and baths from getting so dirty than most kids can imagine. Mary loved to do anything with Jim, which most know, was fishing. They would often find themselves out fishing several days a week and sometimes several times a day. She would always complain about breaking the ice of the of the pond or lake to get the boat in, but was always ready for her next adventure with her “Booger”!
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Juanita Cheap, sister and brother in law, Bernita and Roy Johnson, brother and sister in law, Wilber and Zona Cheap, brother in law Marvin McNaughton, brother in law Ronald Crawford, nephews Scott Cheap and Steven Crawford, and niece LaShel Crawford Sykes.
