Marj graduated Northeast High School in Oklahoma City. She worked as a secretary for the State of Oklahoma, then later she worked at Tinker Air Force Base as an Awards Specialist; finally as a proud homemaker. Marj married Floyd Whalen, Jr. in Cooke County, Texas on April 29, 1966. She was a member of East Brent Baptist Church in Pensacola. Marj loved her church family, playing golf and genealogy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; mother, parents, Olah H. (Hamilton) Templeton; father, Roy Templeton; brother, John Carroll Templeton; son, Michael Alan Whalen; step-son, Michael Bryan Whalen and step-daughter, Pricilla Moore.
Marj is survived by her son, William Whalen; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday September 25, 2019 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
