Marilyn Kay (Quimby) Newman, age 74, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. Marilyn was born September 3, 1946 in Hastings, Nebraska. A come-and-go visiation for Marilyn will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services -South Chapel, 7720 S Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73159. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A burial will occur Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd., Elgin, OK 73538.
Marilyn Kay Newman (74), passed away on June 11th, 2021 at her residence. She was the widow of James Robert Newman. They shared 54 years together. Born in Hasting, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Walter and Flora Quimby. She attended Victoria High School, and went on to pursue accounting and teaching in college. She was a member of Western Hills Church. She enjoyed reading, church, crocheting, watching OU Football, spending time with family, and drinking Dr. Pepper. She will be remembered for blessing others, making family a priority, making people feel special and being the sunshine in the rain. Marilyn is survived by daughter Kelley Newman of Mustang, Oklahoma; grandchild Lilia Ingram, grandchild Danielle Wells and grandchild Brittiney Shanks. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Newman. Marilyn also leaves behind 7 1/2 great-grandchildren and 1 fur baby. She was predeceased by her 2 sons.
Serving as pallbearers are Kelley Newman, Brittiney Shanks, Danielle Wells, Sophie Barrett, Jeremiah Miller and Sarah Shanks.
