Margie Ree (Turner) Holly passed away at 10:09 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Margie was born to George Washington Turner and Nora Ellie “Dollie” (Marcy) Turner on March 11, 1929 in Ropesville, Hockley County, Texas. Margie had six Brothers (Taft, Dick, Henry, Woody, Eldon, Lee and Vergil) and four Sisters (Hazel, Sue, Polly and Leta). Margie grew up on the family farm in New Home, Texas. As a young girl Margie got the opportunity to sing the song “Hi Neighbor” by Orrin Tucker on the radio. In 1945 Margie graduated from New Home School at the age of 16. After graduating, Margie spent a short time before marrying Otis working at the local telephone company as a Phone Operator. On December 26, 1947, Margie married Otis Holly in Idalou, Texas and immediately moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Margie and Otis had two Children, Danny married to Jeana (Tucker) Holly and Vicki married to Steve Ray.
Margie has four Grandchildren, Stacey Ray, Shane Holly, Kelli Ray (previously married to Jim Thrasher) and Ashley Holly (married to Robert Goodner). Margie has five Great-Grandchildren, Kalli Thrasher, Kylie Thrasher (soon to be married to Grant Mayeaux), Karlie Zook (married to Jonah Zook), Audrey Goodner, and Robert Orion Goodner. Margie has one Great-Great-Granddaughter on the way, Oaklyn Lane Zook and one Great-Great-Granddog, Marley Ziggy Thrasher.
Margie is preceded in death by her Parents, ten Siblings, Husband, Son, Daughter-in-Law and Son-in-Law.
Margie helped serve her community as a member of the Midwest City Epsilon Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Margie was an avid Bowler, loved rooting for the OKC Thunder and watching almost all sporting events played by OU and OSU.
A visitation for Margie will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73141.
