

Margaret Anne (Washington) Ihrig, age 90, passed peacefully from this life on November 7, 2022. She was born March 6, 1932 to Paul and Carolyn Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Ihrig and grandson Jordan Zoller. She is survived by son Kevin (Vicki) of Tulsa, grandsons Brandon and Micah; daughter Catherine Zoller, (Jay) of Tulsa, grandchildren Jacob and Jessie; son David (Debra), granddaughter Caelah of Placentia, California; three great-grandchildren; sister Carolyn Compton of Edmond; and nephew Paul Douthit of Alexandria, VA. Margaret graduated from Classen High School, and attended Oklahoma A&M where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Charlie on September 1, 1954 and moved to Kansas City where he attended dental school. After his graduation, they moved to White Sands Missile Range for two years before moving back to Oklahoma City. Margaret helped run her parent’s company but suffered a major stroke when she was 39, forcing the company to close. A group of friends and family helped her relearn to read, write, and do math. She never relearned to play the piano, which she had played beautifully. She was an avid seamstress; enjoyed practicing several styles of art, traveling, weekends at Lake Tenkiller with the family and later, weaving on her weaving machine. She returned to college later in life and graduated with a degree in art. She was a member of PEO for 60 years and a past president. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities over the years, including as a deacon and Stephen’s Ministry. She and Charlie volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. She was always physically active, walking the mall with friends and mowing her lawn well into her eighties. Arrangements are being handled by Hahn, Cook, Street and Draper. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N. Shartel at 2 PM on Monday, November 14th. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the Children’s Ministry at Westminster or Habitat for Humanity.
