I used to be an exchange student from Russia! And it happened that I became really good friends with Elizabeth and then with Madeline...she was such a great parent to my friend and such a great friend to me...she was a great person in all...17 yrs later I came to OKC to visit my friends...we had the best night at Madelin’s house with Liz and our friend Amanda and my daughter Lidia...we had the best pasta and talks on the porch! That was a great night to remember  with a lot of laughs and joy! Madeline will be in my and my daughter’s heart forever!  Sending prayers to all the family, from Russia with love ❤️ 

Madeline lives next door to us. She was a great friend and neighbor and we had many fence talks about life, our dogs, fireworks, flowers and so on....
I am still in shock, I sit outside all the time and I keep thinking she will be out there. She loved the outdoors as much as I do!
I will always..always think of her when I'm out back And I look over and see her flowers and yard trinkets. I will always miss her smile and beautiful spirit!

I first met Madeline at Brush Ranch Camp near Pecos and Santa Fe, New Mexico. We were cabin mates for 3 years in a row. We became close friends especially known we were just miles away from each other in our home towns, Oklahoma City and Kingfisher, Ok. We stayed in touched with each other for several years afterwards and had spent a weekend with her and her family. I knew her sister Suzanne also met at Brush Ranch even though she may not remember me. In just reading about her life not knowing she attended Stephens College, and probably didn't realize we may of been in Columbia, Mo at the same time I was attending Columbia College. I sure wished I would of known, we could of gotten back with our friendship and hung out together while finishing up our college years. I just now got back with her after many years through facebook, and we both were excited to find each other and messaged each other about meeting up going to Brush Ranch Camp for a reunion. I was so happy in the possibility in seeing each other again. When I found out and read of Madeline's  passing, I was deeply saddened. I do remember her beautiful smile and we had so much fun together at Brush Ranch especially being cabin mates, and knowing we would end up being cabin mates for the next 2 summers I was going back.  I was looking forward in seeing each other again soon.  Even though years went by without any contact with each other, Madeline, you always were in my memories of laughter and joy. We began our lifelong friendship playing, rollerskating, and riding our bikes up and down Kingsbury Lane.  As women, we went on wonderful vacations  together to Santa Fe. And, in between times, we had the best marathon phone calls ever. And, no matter how old we were, you could always make me laugh so hard that I cried. 

When next I see you, sweet friend, be ready to ride bikes and play and laugh, once again.

Madeline leaves behind 2 loving sons and a daughter; Thomas Henry Baldwin, Jr., and his wife Shannon, their children, Mackenzie and Bentley of Rockwall, TX; Mary Elizabeth Atkinson, her husband Joshua, their children Jack and Knox of Oklahoma City; and Jeremy Dillon and his wife Kelsey of Edmond; brothers Harry J. Schafer, III, Dixon Schafer, sister Suzanna Dean; and many other family and friends who loved her.
