Lucille F. Wayland of Midwest City, OK, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011. She was 85 years old having been born November 5, 1925 in Lindsey, TX and graduated as Valedictorian from Nida High School. She retired as manager of the Phillips Petroleum Oklahoma City District Credit Union in Oklahoma City. Lucille was a proud “Rosie the Riveter” and worked at Douglas Aircraft during WWII. She married O.E. Wayland, JR, on May 12, 1945 in San Diego, CA. After brief stays in San Diego and Bremerton, WA, Lucille and O.E. settled in Midwest City where they raised their two daughters. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church since 1952. Her parents, Henry A. Lueb and Mary Ann Schmitz Lueb, five sisters, two brothers, and one nephew preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, O.E., two daughters, Janice Ford and husband William of Midwest City and Peggy Hawk of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren: Jessica Barrett and fiancé Christopher Strecker, Rosanna Reynolds and husband Rex, John Hawk and Kari Hawk; two great-grandchildren: Ryan and Rex Allen; one brother Ray Lueb and one sister Louise Metcalf, and many other family and friends. She was a loving, generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a good friend to many. She was a wonderful cook and was especially well known for her delicious cinnamon rolls and Red Velvet cakes. She loved to garden and was a very experienced seamstress. She loved having family and friends in her home and could light up a room with her beautiful smile and cheerful spirit. A Wake Service will be held Sunday October 9, 2011 at 7:00pm at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
